Gift of Care
Gift of Care: give therapy sessions to someone you love
With Gift of Care you can pay for online sessions with Emotral's Persian-speaking therapists for someone close to you. Accepting it is entirely optional: they decide whether, when and with which therapist to use it.
Sometimes the most meaningful gift is the opportunity to be heard.
Dear Maryam
This gift is for you: a chance to talk, to rest, and to give yourself some attention.
With love, Sara

How Gift of Care works
- 1
Choose an amount
One, two or four sessions, or an amount of your choice. It is held as credit, because therapists do not all charge the same.
- 2
Write your message
Pick a ready-made message and edit it, or write your own. You can show your name or stay anonymous.
- 3
Deliver it
We email it to them, or you get a private link to send yourself. Email delivery can be scheduled for a special day.
- 4
They decide
If they want to, they accept it, choose their own therapist and book when they are ready. Nothing is booked automatically.
Gift options and prices
Each option equals the regular session price in your region. If the therapist they choose charges a different amount, the credit is used accordingly, and if a session costs more they only pay the difference.

What the gift card looks like
The recipient sees a card like this with your message. It can be printed or saved as a PDF.
Dear Maryam
I want you to know that your peace of mind matters to me. You can use this gift whenever you choose.
With love, Sara

Privacy and consent
- The recipient is never asked for medical or psychological information, and neither are you.
- No account is created for the recipient unless they accept the gift themselves. Their email address is used only to deliver this gift, never for marketing.
- As the purchaser you only see whether the gift was accepted. The therapist, session times, number of sessions and anything said in them belong to the recipient alone.
- If the recipient declines, they are not asked why; we only tell you that the gift was not redeemed.
Validity, refunds and changing the recipient
- The gift link or invitation can be accepted for 30 days, with one reminder to the recipient about a week before it ends.
- The end of those 30 days does not mean the money is lost. The gift value is kept, and you can create a fresh link, send it to someone else, or turn it into credit on your own account.
- Until the gift is accepted (or if it is declined or not accepted in time) you can ask for a full refund to the original payment method from My gifts. Our team reviews each request, and no fees are deducted.
- Once accepted, the credit belongs to the recipient. We suggest using it within 12 months, but paid credit is never cancelled automatically. If a session booked with gift credit is cancelled under Emotral's cancellation rules, the credit goes back to the recipient's balance.
Gift of Care: frequently asked questions
Does the recipient have to use the gift?
No. Accepting it is entirely optional. They can accept it, decide later, or decline with one click without giving a reason.
Will I find out which therapist they saw, or when?
No. You only see whether the gift was accepted. Nothing about the therapist, times or content of sessions is shared with you.
They live in another country. Is that a problem?
Sessions are online and the recipient sees times in their own local time. The credit is in the currency you paid in and is used for sessions in that currency. If they live in a region with a different currency, talk to our support team before buying.
What if their therapist costs more than the credit?
The gift credit is used as far as it goes and they pay only the difference by card. If it costs less, the remaining credit stays for the next session.
Does a gift book sessions or start a subscription automatically?
No. No session is booked and no therapist is chosen automatically, and a gift never creates a monthly payment.
What happens to my money if the gift is not accepted?
It is kept. You can send the gift to someone else, turn it into credit on your own account, or ask for a refund to your original payment method.
Do I need an account to buy a gift?
No. A name and email are enough. If you later create an account with the same email and verify it, your gifts appear under My gifts.
What does the recipient need to do?
Open the gift link, sign in or create an account, and accept the gift terms. The credit is then in their account, and they can choose to pay with gift credit when booking.
Can I schedule the gift for a birthday or another occasion?
Yes. If you choose email delivery, you can set the date and time it is sent.
Sometimes the most meaningful gift is the opportunity to be heard.
